Burghead Headland Trust

Burghead Heritage Centre

A new extension has been added to expand the exhibition space and to give a viewpoint over the Moray Firth.  Burghead Headland Trust is grateful to all the funders, including the Heritage Lottery Fund, who have enabled the extension to be built.  Please check the Heritage Centre website to confirm opening times before visiting.
Burghead Headland is the site of what was the largest Pictish promontory fort in Scotland.
The Visitor Centre ( the round white building on the headland) run entirely by volunteers, is housed in the former 19th century Storm Signal which commands unrivalled views of the Moray Firth. The Centre takes visitors through the history of Burghead from about 400AD to present time.
